White Sage - a natural cleansing incense

Before you begin, be sure to open any doors or windows as the unwanted energy you are trying to clear must have a path to get out.

Light the end of the sage. Blow away quickly if it catches fire.
The tips of the leaves should smolder slowly, releasing thick smoke. Direct this smoke at those areas of your body or objects you want to focus on. Optionally, you can use a fan or a feather.

When finished, place the sage in a metal, glass, or clay bowl.

You can also light sage to improve the smell and mood. Simply place the bundle in a fireproof bowl or burner and let it smoke for a while.

Make sure the beam is completely off when finished. You can do this by dipping its end in a small bowl of ash or sand. After it is completely extinguished, store it in a safe, dry place away from the sun.

Remember to be careful when working with fire.
